This study examined how Green Human Resource Management (GHRM) practices enhance sustainability outcomes in manufacturing firms in Imo State, Nigeria. Grounded in the Resource-Based View and the Theory of Planned Behavior, the study employed a quantitative, cross-sectional design, utilizing structured questionnaires to gather responses from employees of manufacturing firms. The study population consists of 501 employees across various subsectors in the Anambra, Enugu, and Abia industrial corridors. A sample size of 141 is calculated using the Taro Yamane formula with a (...) 5% error margin. Descriptive statistics (means, standard deviations, frequency distributions) are used to summarize GHRM practice adoption (green recruitment/selection, green training & involvement, green performance management & rewards) and sustainability outcomes (environmental, economic, and social). Pearson Product–Moment correlation coefficients test the hypothesized relationships between GHRM practices and sustainability performance. The paper contributes context-specific evidence from Anambra, one of Nigeria’s most industrialized states, while extending contemporary GHRM practice that links HR levers to measurable sustainability outcomes. This study investigated the negative influence of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) on the academic performance of junior secondary school students in Nnewi North Local Government Area, Anambra State, Nigeria. A descriptive survey design was adopted, involving 300 students from government-owned secondary schools using convenience and simple random sampling techniques. Data was collected through a self-structured questionnaire which is divided into two sections: one for demographic information and the other for responses. The instrument was subjected to face validation and a (...) pre-test for clarity and accuracy. Its reliability was confirmed using the split-half method. Data were analyzed using frequency percentages, mean, and standard deviation. A decision rule was set: mean scores of 2.5 and above indicated high influence, while scores below 2.5 signified low influence. The findings highlighted several perceived negative effects of ICT on students’ academic performance. These results contribute to understanding the extent of ICT’s adverse impact and provide a basis for developing strategies to reduce its negative effects, ultimately supporting improved academic outcomes in the area. Background: The impact of Experience-Based Learning (EBL) on the academic achievement of secondary school students in Computer Science in the Nnewi Education Zone, Anambra State, Nigeria, has become an important issue that needs to be addressed. Objective: The study aims to assess the effect of the Experiential Learning Strategy (ELS) on the academic achievement of secondary school students in Computer Studies. Method: A quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest non-equivalent control group was used. Eighteen community secondary schools were selected from 48, (...) with two schools randomly chosen. Intact classes participated, where students were taught Microsoft Word using either ELS or the traditional lecture method (LM). The Computer Studies Achievement Test (CSAT) was used for data collection, and data were analyzed using mean, standard deviation, and ANCOVA. Results: Results showed a significant difference in achievement scores, favouring students taught with the Experiential Learning Strategy (ELS). Conclusion: The study recommended incorporating the Experiential Learning Strategy into the curriculum as a teaching strategy for Computer Studies in the classroom, as it fosters self-development. Contribution: This study provides empirical evidence of ELS's effectiveness in improving academic achievement, offers a framework for enhancing student engagement in Computer Studies, and suggests future directions for integrating innovative teaching strategies into education. This study investigates workers' perception of incentives within the Anambra State Internal Revenue Service (ASIRS) and their implications for job satisfaction, motivation, and employee performance. The specific objectives of the study are to: find out the extent to which different types of incentives affect employee job satisfaction at ASIRS, examine whether employee perceptions of incentives affect motivation at ASIRS, and determine the extent to which incentives impact employee performance at ASIRS. The researchers employed a descriptive survey research design to collect (...) data from employees at ASIRS, utilizing a structured questionnaire with a Likert scale format to gather quantitative responses. The study sample consisted of 200 employees selected through a stratified random sampling technique, ensuring representation across various departments and job levels. Data analysis was conducted using both descriptive statistics and inferential statistics, including multiple regression analysis to determine the relationship between incentives and the dependent variables of job satisfaction, motivation, and performance. The findings indicate that monetary incentives, such as salary increases and performance bonuses, significantly enhance job satisfaction among ASIRS employees, explaining 65% of the variance in job satisfaction. Employee perceptions of fairness and transparency in the distribution of incentives were found to have a substantial effect on motivation, accounting for 72% of the variance. Additionally, incentives have been shown to influence employee performance, with job satisfaction and motivation serving as key mediators, accounting for 69% of performance. The study recommends that ASIRS enhance its financial incentive packages by ensuring competitive salaries and meaningful performance bonuses. It also suggests fostering career development opportunities and maintaining transparency and fairness in the distribution of incentives to boost motivation and performance. Non-monetary incentives, such as recognition and professional development programs, should also be incorporated to complement financial rewards. (shrink)

This study examines the role of innovation and entrepreneurship as catalysts for improved organizational performance, with a focus on selected firms in Anambra State, Nigeria. The research was motivated by the growing need for organizations to adopt innovative strategies and entrepreneurial practices to remain competitive in a dynamic business environment. Using a survey research design, data were collected from 230 respondents drawn from selected firms across different sectors in Anambra State. The viewpoints on experiential learning strategy and its effect on the achievement and interest of secondary school students in computer studies were investigated. The study was based on the theory of Experiential Learning of Kolb and Experiential Learning Model of Dewey which focuses on learning through experiences, reflections, and practices. This study used the systematic literature review method, which reviews literature both theoretically and empirically, to study the theoretical and empirical viewpoints on experiential learning and its effect on students' success (...) and interest in computer studies. Sources of data were from credible academic publications like journals, textbooks and online databases (Google scholar). A set of inclusion criteria were established and relevant studies were identified. A thematic and comparative analysis method was used to aggregate findings, to key variables and theories. The results were synthesized using narrative synthesis, with a focus on the validity of the results obtained, peer-reviewed literature sources were used, and the results of the analysis were subjected to cross verification. From the synthesized literature, it was found that experiential learning strategies have positive effects on students' learning outcomes which could be seen from the higher involvement of students, critical thinking in learning, and skill development in learning. The review also demonstrated that experiential method makes students more interested in computer studies because it is able to create learning experiences that are interesting and meaningful. Moreover, it was found that the learner centered methods such as simulations, collaborative learning and project-based method were more effective than lecture methods. Results on gender differences were inconclusive, but overall, results indicate that experiential learning is beneficial for male and female students. The study found that experiential learning strategy is an effective pedagogical approach to enhance academic achievement and students' interest in computer studies. Learning outcomes should be improved by using experiential and other learner centred teaching-learning methods so that students can be prepared in real-life contexts was recommended for teachers.
